Front Range Piano Tuning Services

Dennis Van Valkenburgh piano tunerThere is no better feeling than sitting down to a piano that has just been tuned. The joy and satisfaction in my work comes from the ability to restore an out of tune piano to its original promise.

Tuning is a technical and demanding skill. Pianos have close to 300 strings all of which work together to create the unique sound that makes each piano special. I was trained in Washington D.C., my home town, by Rick Butler, long time tuner for the White House, National Symphony and Kennedy Center and founder of the Butler Piano School.

Each piano is unique unto itself and each requires a tuning designed to its own size and sound properties. The same tuning that would maximize the sound of a spinet piano in a living room, would stifle the sound of a concert grand. Designing a tuning that showcases each pianos individuality is the most challenging aspect of a tuners job. My tunings make use of the latest state of the art digital as well as traditional aural methods to insure that your piano is both perfectly in tune and, most importantly, maximizes its sound potential.

Based in Golden, I service the front range, Denver metro and nearby mountain towns. I am a Piano Technician Guild Associate and constantly work to improve my skills and knowledge thru on going education and training.

If your piano is in need of some care, please give me a call to see how I can be of help. As a guide, pianos should be tuned at least once a year to maintain the string tension and playability. Beyond that, a pianos need for service depends on amount of use, condition, age of the instrument as well as the environment it lives in.

I would enjoy the opportunity to bring your pianos unique, full sound back to life. My service is competitively priced and I strive to accommodate your schedule.
